Today, India has demonstrated its leadership position in the space of green buildings. Many organisations have reiterated their commitment to tread the green path.

Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is making constant efforts towards wider adoption of green building concepts in India since 2001.

Currently standing at over 15.79 billion sq. ft of green footprint with 19,156+ projects adopting IGBC’s 33 rating systems , today India stands among the top three countries globally in terms of the largest registered green building footprint.

Playing a catalytic role in accelerating the green building movement in India is IGBC’s annual flagship event – Green Building Congress.

This is one such event where national and international stakeholders converge to share & learn the latest and emerging green building technologies and forge new partnerships.

Since 2001, IGBC’s Green Building Congress has been a springboard for advancing the Indian green building movement.

National and international experts would address Green Building Congress. Stakeholders from the construction industry including architects, engineers, planners, builders & developers, contractors, consultants, corporates, green product manufacturers, government officials, educational institutions and technology providers would attend the annual flagship event.

Building on the success of earlier editions, CII IGBC is hosting the 24th Green Building Congress from 26 - 28 November 2026 at Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, India .

The primary objectives of the 24th Green Building Congress are to further accelerate the Green and Net Zero Building Movement in India and provide a platform for deliberations, showcasing green products and technologies, and creating new business opportunities for stakeholders in the Green and Net Zero Building space.
